Terms & conditions

These terms apply to every tour booked with Sitara Holiday, whether through this website, by phone, on WhatsApp or at our offices. A package page may add terms of its own for that trip; where it does, those apply as well.

• A booking is confirmed on receipt of a 50% non-refundable deposit.
• A quote is not a reservation. Rates are subject to availability at the time of actual booking.
• Rates are based on the stated number of adults travelling together; a change in the number of travellers changes the tour price.
• Hotels honour a booking only on presentation of a confirmed voucher. Vouchers are released after full payment is received, and once released the booking is non-refundable and cannot be amended.
• Registration charges are non-refundable.

• Train tickets are issued through IRCTC, a government company. Tickets open 60 days before travel at 08:00 AM, so early booking is essential.
• Travel agents receive no separate quota. We cannot change an RAC or waiting-list ticket, allot seats, or arrange anything with IRCTC or the TT.
• Seat numbers are only known once the chart is prepared, 4 to 6 hours before departure.
• We take no responsibility for Tatkal tickets.

We may change an itinerary at any point because of force majeure, strikes, fairs, festivals, weather, traffic, overbooking of hotels or flights, cancelled or rerouted flights, or closures and entry restrictions at a place of visit. We will make suitable alternative arrangements where we can, but are not liable for refunds or compensation arising from such changes.

In heavy snow the vehicle may not reach Solang Valley, the Atal Tunnel or similar points, and the group may need to wait at the hotel until the weather improves. Any car or 4x4 booked to go further is at the traveller's own cost.

• Check-in and check-out times follow each hotel's policy. Early check-in and late check-out depend on availability and may be charged by the hotel.
• There is no refund for unused nights or an early check-out; in a medical situation this depends on the hotel's own policy.
• Hotels in hill stations and tourist areas are not comparable with city business hotels.
• On a group tour we cannot guarantee a particular room, such as one with a balcony.

• Adventure activities are not included unless a package says so, and are paid for by the traveller.
• Travellers take part in adventure activities at their own risk. Neither our guides nor our staff are responsible for injury or loss of life during them.
• Travellers are responsible for their own health and for any personal injury or illness.

A travel guide accompanies groups of 15 or more. For smaller groups, the driver provides the necessary guidance.

Unless a package lists it as included: personal expenses, entrance fees, guide charges, extra sightseeing or vehicle use, travel insurance, and any cost arising from natural calamities, road blockages or strikes, which is payable on the spot. Any rise in taxes or fuel prices before departure may increase the tour price.
